Sight and Hearing Screenings Starting September
Attention parents and guardians of students in the Lake Chelan, Manson, Pateros, and Brewster school districts!
The Lake Chelan Lions Club in conjunction with our schools, will be holding its annual school sight and hearing screenings for Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 7th graders on the following dates:
Chelan Morgan Owens Elementary School, September 24-24, 2024
Manson Elementary School, September 30, 2024
Brewster Elementary School, October 8, 2024
Root School October 16, 2024
Pateros Elementary School October 28, 2024
Please help us by having your children in school on these days so that they can be screened. Early detection of vision and hearing problems is essential for children's success in school and in life.
The screenings are quick and easy, and they are performed by trained volunteers. If your child needs a referral for further testing, the school nurse will help you with that.
Sight and Hearing Assistance
The Mission of the Lake Chelan Lions Club Is to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities and support those in need through humanitarian services that impact lives locally and globally. For over 25 years the Lake Chelan Lions Club has worked with thousands of children in the Valley to identify those who are at risk for learning disabilities caused by sight and hearing difficulties. The Lake Chelan Lions Club in conjunction with the school districts of Chelan, Manson and Pateros have screened over 16,000 students from K-5 and 7.
The Lake Chelan Lions Club program provides sight and hearing assistance to those in our communities that are less fortunate and do not have the means to receive these essential services. In partnership with Spectrum Eyecare Valley Vision and Home Town Hearing, the Lake Chelan Lions Club provides these basic service.
To see if you qualify, fill out the Application for Sight and Hearing Assistance form and provide the information required, then send it to the address on the form and our Sight and Hearing Chairman will let you know if you qualify.
